If I'm with you all day, having a meal is definitely appreciated.
It doesn't have to be anything fancy. It's just practical. Wedding days are long, and once things start, there's usually no chance to step away and get food elsewhere.
I'm on my feet most of the day, carrying gear, staying alert, and listening for important moments. When you sit down to eat, that's usually the only natural break for me too, and it's just before the speeches or the first dance, when I need to be fully focused.
Having food means I have the energy to stay sharp through the evening.
Most venues offer 'supplier meals' for photographers and videographers. It's usually a simpler version of the guest meal, served in a side room or quiet area. That's completely fine. I don't need a seat at a guest table since I'm working, not attending.
I'll eat while the guests are eating, so I won't miss anything important.
It's not a dealbreaker. I'll just plan ahead and bring my own food if needed. It just helps to know in advance so I can be prepared.
Couples sometimes worry about this more than they need to. For me, it's simply about having enough energy to do my job well all the way through the evening.
