Foxtail Barns Wedding Videographer

Foxtail Barns is a venue I always enjoy returning to. It has a bright, modern barn feel, a strong ceremony space, a courtyard that works beautifully for confetti and outdoor areas that give couples enough variety without needing to leave the venue for portraits.

For Karina and Kieran's wedding, the day started with warm May weather and a busy bridal prep room. There was a lot happening in a compact space, so the morning was about working carefully, keeping out of the way and finding the best light for details and final preparations.

Kieran and the groomsmen were already dressed when we met them, so the focus was on buttonholes, a few relaxed groom portraits and getting everyone comfortable before the ceremony. The light outside was soft and overcast, which worked really well for natural, flattering shots.

The ceremony room at Foxtail Barns is one of the strongest parts of the venue for film. It is spacious, bright and has a long aisle, which gives the entrance a really cinematic feel. Karina's walk into the room looked beautiful, and having coverage from both the front and the back meant we could capture both the entrance and Kieran's reaction.

After the ceremony, everyone moved into the courtyard for confetti. This is always one of my favourite parts of the day to film, especially in slow motion, because it gives you time to really see the reactions, smiles and little moments between the couple and their guests.

The couple portraits were kept relaxed and efficient. We used the garden, bridge and surrounding views near the venue, giving Karina and Kieran a bit of breathing room without taking them away from their guests for too long. The best shots usually come from a bit of guidance, then letting the couple move naturally within it.

Before the wedding breakfast, the room details, cake and handmade decorations gave the film more texture. Foxtail Barns also has those distinctive circular ceiling lights, which are great for establishing shots and little visual transitions.

The speeches came before the meal and brought a mix of humour, emotion and personality. Later in the evening, we took Karina and Kieran outside again for sunset shots. The timing worked beautifully, with warm light around the gardens and gazebo before the evening moved into cake cutting, first dance and the party.

The live band gave the evening a proper lift. Guests joined the dance floor quickly, and the atmosphere had that feeling where the party could carry on without the camera needing to push anything.
