Moxhull Hall Wedding Videographer

Moxhull Hall is a venue I always enjoy returning to. It has lovely gardens, strong indoor spaces and plenty of opportunities for relaxed portraits without needing to take the couple too far away from the day.

For Mona and Paul's wedding, I was working alongside Pete Davis, who I have filmed with many times before. The day started with beautiful summer weather, so once we had checked where the ceremony was taking place, we went to meet Mona and the bridal party.

Mona was getting ready in the bungalow near the main building, surrounded by bridesmaids, family and a lot of happy energy. Because Paul was not around that part of the venue, we had the freedom to create a proper dress shot outside, using the railings near the bungalow to frame Mona's dress with the bridesmaids' dresses either side. It became one of those detail shots that really stayed with me.

The indoor ceremony room at Moxhull Hall is spacious and works well on film, but the light can change from the back of the room to the top of the aisle. I usually balance this with a small light so the entrance stays consistent and the shot does not suddenly fall into darkness as the bride walks in.

Paul arrived full of energy and looked sharp in a light suit with a dark bow tie. He and the groomsmen were easy to work with, happy to take direction and relaxed enough to give us both the posed shots and the natural moments in between.

One of the most emotional moments of the morning was Mona's first look with her dad. It was clear how much the moment meant to both of them, and those are the parts of a wedding day that always matter on film — not just how everything looked, but how it felt.

The ceremony was short, sweet and full of warmth. Mona walked in with her dad, Paul was waiting at the top of the aisle, and after the vows, kiss and signing, everyone moved outside for confetti and family portraits.

Because the weather was starting to look uncertain, we kept the family portraits efficient. Within around 20 minutes, the formal photos were done and everyone could get back to drinks, hugs, laughter and time with guests.

Before the wedding breakfast, we took Mona and Paul into the wooded area and garden spaces around Moxhull Hall for couple portraits. They were happy to be guided, and that gave us a chance to create shots that felt natural but still looked considered.

The speeches brought a mix of emotion and humour, with words from Paul, the best man and Mona's granddaughters. Later, the evening moved into the marquee, where the DJ gave a brilliant introduction full of stories and personality before the first dance began.

Paul had been full of energy all day, and once the dance floor opened, it really came through. Mona and Paul danced like they were fully in the moment, with family and guests joining around them. It was warm, lively and full of the kind of real interaction that makes evening footage feel alive.
